According to official announcement posts on OPPO Community, OPPO has begun to seed the ColorOS 12 stable update for the OPPO Reno6 5G and the OPPO Reno5 5G as scheduled. The latest system update for these handsets is currently live in the following regions.

  • OPPO Reno6 5G

    • Region: China, India, Indonesia, Vietnam
    • Required Firmware: A.17/A.18/A.20
    • Firmware Version: C.26
  • OPPO Reno5 5G

    • Region: Indonesia

In order to install the fresh software update, users need to go to Settings > Software Updates > Gear Icon > Trial Version and follow the on-screen instructions. The company recommends backing up important data before proceeding. Also, it warns about compatibility issues with some third-party applications on Android 12.

As with any system update, the device may heat up and power consumption may rise for some time due to background optimization after the installation of the update. OPPO says that this will get fixed by itself.

Having said that, if you own either of these phones and have already installed the update, then do share your experience in the comment section below. This way users who are yet to download the update can get an idea about the new software release.
