In recent years, the automobile industry has been developing autonomous driving technology that will soon take away human interaction from the vehicle entirely. But even if you’re no longer driving the car, an in vehicle entertainment system is still required. And the Mercedes EQS SUV is already offering some great features.

The new car from the automobile giant is an all electric model, which is also the third model to be based on the company’s dedicated EV architecture. On the inside, it will featuer a massive 56 inch MBUX Hyperscreen. It also has a 12.3 inch OLED display in front, so that the passenger will be able to stream videos while the SUV is moving. Furthermore, the passengers will also have to wear headphones to avoid distracting the driver.

Although, the brand will also employ a second safeguard that will guarantee that the driver is focusing on the road. The car will dim the passenger screen as soon as it detects the driver trying to glance at it. This is made possible thanks to an in built driver monitoring system that will track their eyes. Notably, this is a first for Mercedes, although, other brands like Jeep also lets passengers watch videos in their Grand Wagoneer and Grand Cherokee models.

Mercedes may also be planning on bringing this feature to some of its other vehicle models as well. This could include the the likes of the EQS sedan, which has the same technology. However, the company has yet to officially confirm this news. Apart from this highlighting feature, the EQS SUV will also feature Dolby Atmos sound system and a air pruification system as well.
