Google released the Pixel 6 series smartphones last year with a revamped design and more powerful specifications, especially in the camera department, thanks to its own Google Tensor processor. The company is now working on the next-generation Pixel 7 series smartphones, details of which are surfacing online.

In the latest report, details about the camera specification of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro have been revealed. Tipster Yogesh Brar claims that the upcoming flagship smartphone from Google will have the same camera setup as its predecessors.

If the report is to be believed, then the Pixel 7 will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. On the other hand, the Pixel 7 Pro will have a triple-camera setup with the addition of a 48-megapixel telephoto lens.

While the camera configuration may not appear to be powerful, Google has not solely relied on the hardware to make the Pixel series one of the best camera phones in the market.

It is also being said that the tech giant will optimize the sensors to get better performance out of them and similar to the previous-generation models in the lineup, a lot of the processing will be handled by software.

The Pixel 7 is expected to have a 6.3-inch display while the ultra-premium Pixel 7 Pro will feature a 6.7-inch display. The regular Pixel 7 is said to have a non-LTPO display and offer a 90Hz screen refresh rate. On the other hand, the Pro model is said to have support for a 120Hz refresh rate and the screen will use the LTPO panel.

Internally, the devices will come powered by the company’s own processor, which will be a successor to the Google Tensor SoC. Recently, renders of the upcoming Google Pixel 7 were leaked online, showcasing that the design of the phone remains unchanged but there will be some minor improvements.

There are rumors that the next-generation Google Pixel 7 series smartphones could launch earlier than its usual timeframe. It is being speculated that the phones could launch sometime in September, a bit earlier than its usual launch in October.

Ahead of the launch of the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones, the company is all set to launch the Google Pixel 6a, which is expected to go official next month.
