At the Redmi 10A virtual launch event for India, Xiaomi surprised everyone by announcing yet another smartphone called Redmi 10 Power. Though it sounds like a new device, it isn’t. It is actually nothing but a Redmi 10 with plenty of RAM and in new striking color.
The newly unveiled Redmi 10 Power is basically a Redmi 10 inside out. The only major difference between the two is that the latest phone comes with a whopping 8GB of RAM paired with 128GB of internal storage. There’s also support for additional 3GB of virtual RAM.
It arrives in a stellar Sporty Orange color option, in addition to standard Power Black. The former color matches Xiaomi’s branding and the Redmi 9 Power’s Fiery Red variant.
As far as price is concerned, the Redmi 10 Power costs ₹14,999 ($196). At this retail price, it has tough competition from Xiaomi’s own Poco M4 Pro and Redmi Note 11. These two devices offer a better set of features.
Weirdly, despite making the handset official, Xiaomi did not reveal its availability. We expect the company to disclose further details in the coming days.
With that being said, it is worth noting that the Redmi 10 (Redmi 10 Power) for India is different from the Redmi 10 sold elsewhere. The original Redmi 10 is known as Redmi 10 Prime in the region, while the Redmi 10 available here is actually the Redmi 10C.
