At the Xiaomi Next 2022 event in India, the company finally announced the Xiaomi 12 Pro for the country. At the same time, it also debuted the Xiaomi Pad 5. The flagship tablet from the firm was first unveiled in August 2021. It took the brand 8 months to bring its first tablet in years to India. Let’s take a look at its specs along with its pricing and availability.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 features a plastic rear panel and a metal frame. It measures 254.69 x 166.25 x 6.85mm in dimensions and weighs 511g.

The tablet flaunts a 10.95-inch display (LCD) with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels (WQHD+), 275 PPI, and up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The 10-bit panel supports stylus input via Xiaomi Smart Pen, DCI-P3 color gamut, and Dolby Vision HDR standard. It has a 16:10 aspect ratio and a peak brightness level of 650 nits.

The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 SoC paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It boots MIUI 13 based on Android 11 with the MIUI for Pad interface. It is backed by an 8,720mAh battery, which is capable of charging at the rate of 33W (22.5W charger included in the box).

The product comes with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. It houses quad speakers with support for Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and Hi-Res Audio Wireless. Unfortunately, there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack, MicroSD card slot, or fingerprint sensor.

Finally, the connectivity options on the tablet include dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0 (Type-C), and a pogo pin connector for the official keyboard accessory.

 

Xiaomi Pad 5 Price and Availability in India

The Xiaomi Pad 5 will retail at the following price tags in India starting at 12 PM on May 3.

  • 6GB + 128GB – ₹26,999 ($352)
  • 6GB + 256GB – ₹28,999 ($378)

For a limited time till May 7, the tablet will be sold at a discounted price of ₹24,999 and ₹26,999. Customers can avail an additional ₹2,000 discount on HDFC Bank credit/debit card and EMI transactions.

The device will be sold via Mi.com, Mi Home, Amazon India, and retail stores.
