Sony has now officially unveiled the WH-1000XM5 headphones, which are the successor to the Sony XM4. The new headphones have been the subject of intense speculations and leaks over the past few weeks. Some of the highlights of the Sony WH-1000XM5 are noise-canceling, exceptional sound quality, and an ergonomic design primed for extended usage.
Sony projects the WH-1000XM5 as having the best noise-canceling capability in the market. Its eight mics and Auto NC Optimizer help to deliver spotless audio. The eight microphones help to dramatically reduce noise mainly on the medium and high-frequency bands. The new pair of headphones also deliver the highest quality audio in the industry. Sony also says that the device was designed with comfort at the heart of it. It is thus very comfortable to use for the duration of its about 30 hours battery life.
The Sony WH-1000XM5 is a successor to the 1000XM4. The new headphones sport a stylish and minimalist design, with several improvements from the XM4. It supports wired and wireless audio input. Its DSEE Extreme technology is also present to improve digital music quality. The voice pickup technology and AI-based noise reduction provide greater voice isolation during calls. The device supports Fast Pair for quick and seamless pairing with other devices. Compatible devices include Android and Windows (Windows 10 and 11).
In terms of charging the battery of the device, Sony says that 3 minutes of charge could offer up to 3 hours of playback. The Sony WH-1000XM5 will go on sale on May 20, 2022, and it is priced at $399.99. Sony will be optimistic that the XM5 will also follow a strong trajectory in the market, like its predecessor.
