Apple has been rumored to be working on a new redesigned Apple MacBook Air laptop which is expected to come powered by the Apple Silicon M2 chip and come with several major changes to its design.

Now, a new report coming from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg’s Power On newsletter claims that Apple could officially unveil the redesigned MacBook Air at WWDC 2022.

Apple has scheduled WWDC 2022 to take place from 6th June to 10th June and if the company makes hardware announcements, then the MacBook Air will be a part of it. If that doesn’t happen, then he belives it could be because of the supply chain issues.

Recently, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had said that the 2022 MacBook Air will have a new form factor design and more color options. He also said that it will not feature a tapered design but it could get shipped it with a more MacBook Pro-like design.

The laptop is also expected to be thinner and lighter, and may even launch in color options similar to the 24 inch iMac, which is available in blue, green, pink, silver, yellow, orange, and purple color options. It is even rumored to offer an off white bezel and a matching off white keyboard, which is a major shift away from its typical black keyboards.

There are conflicting reports about the processor that will power the upcoming MacBook Air laptop. While it should be the M2 processor, as some reports have claimed is the case, there are a few reports that indicate Apple opting to use the old M1 chip for the new MacBook Air because of the supply chain issues.
