iQOO is reportedly working on a new edition of the iQOO Z5 for China. The Chinese manufacturer is yet to confirm its arrival, but speculations are rife that it may debut in the next few days. Chinese tipster Bald is Panda has claimed that the upcoming iQOO Z5 will be similar to the Vivo T2x, which has just gone official in China.

According to the tipster, the difference between the Vivo T2x and the rumored iQOO Z5 6,000mAh battery edition is that the former comes with a waterdrop notch display that offers a 144Hz refresh rate. Hence, it appears that the iQOO phone could be equipped with a punch-hole display. It is unclear whether it supports a 144Hz refresh rate like the T2x.

The leak also suggests that the forthcoming iQOO Z5’s other specifications could be borrowed from the Vivo T2x. To those who are unaware, the T2x is equipped with the Dimensity 1300 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, and up to 256 GB of native storage.

The rear camera island of the T2x has a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel macro snapper. For selfies, it is fitted with a 16-megapixel front camera. For security, it has a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

There is no word on the pricing of the iQOO Z5 6,000mAh battery edition. As far as the T2x is concerned, its 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variants are priced at 1,599 Yuan (~$240) and 1,799 Yuan (~$270), respectively.
