Google IO 2022 was full of surprises because the company teased some unexpected devices such as the Pixel 7 and even a new Pixel Tablet. The Tablet made an incredibly brief appearance confirming that the tech giant is working on a new slate. But there’s still a year to the launch and not many details about the device are out. However, a recent report by NuGiz hints that the new Pixel tablet may carry support for Stylus.

As per the report, a Google tablet with the codename “Tangor” has been spotted on Universal Stylus Initiative’s (USI) website. The listing did not reveal any specifications of the tablet but it signals that the upcoming device will support a stylus.

For the unversed, USI is a non-profit group of companies that standardizes how active interoperable styluses should work. The group aims to make it easier to have cross-compatibility with other devices, meaning a single, active stylus capable of operating with all the devices.

Google joined the USI back in 2018, However, it is only now that a device bearing Google’s branding has been certified by the group. In fact, the Pixel tablet could be the first Android tablet to even get the USI seal of approval.

Of course, this is just a small piece of information and we still don’t know how Google will implement the stylus in the upcoming tablet. If the new Pixel tablet is indeed going to come with a stylus, then it will be interesting to see how the stylus will charge. Notably, USI standard recently added NFC as a wireless charging method. So, Google might just go for that.

Considering that the Pixel Tablet is still an year away from the official launch, it would be unwise to comment on the specifications of the product. Though we expect to see more leaks and rumors about the device in the coming months.
