A few days back, an upcoming Motorola smartphone dubbed Moto G42 was spotted on multiple certification websites carrying model number XT2233. The listings disclosed a few details about the handset. The device also leaked in renders exposing its design. Now, the phone has arrived on Geekbench revealing its chipset.

Motorola Moto G42 Render Leak

According to Geekbench, the forthcoming Motorola Moto G42 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. For the unaware, this is the same chip that’s present underneath the Moto G52.

Apart from the chip, the listing on the benchmarking platform says that the device will boot Android 12. Anyway, this was already known, courtesy of the FCC and WiFi Alliance.

Per the listing on Lenovo’s website, the Moto G42 is codenamed HawaiiPlusOLED22. This suggests that it could sport an OLED display like the Moto G52 but it’s not known whether the panel will support a high refresh rate.

Certifications have also revealed features like dual-band WiFi, NFC, and 4G connectivity. Additionally, renders have disclosed the design as well.

The phone’s look will be near-identical to that of the Moto G52 with a vertically aligned triple camera setup on the rear and a centered punch-hole screen on the front.

Going by the aforementioned details, the Moto G42 may be only slightly different from the Moto G52 and will likely be cheaper. We expect Motorola to announce this handset in the coming days.
