A couple of weeks ago, Sony announced its latest flagship smartphone, dubbed Sony Xperia 1 IV and the phone was recently unveiled in the Chinese market. Today, the smartphone officially goes on sale in China.
The 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage model is priced at 8,499 yuan, which is about $1,270 while the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage model costs 9,499 yuan (~$1,419). It comes in three colors — Black, Purple, and White.
The Sony Xperia 1 IV features a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display that has a 120Hz refresh rate and an aspect ratio of 21:9. It also offers 240Hz motion blur reduction and 240Hz touch scanning rate along with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, coupled with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. It is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance and comes with full stage stereo speakers, and even a 3.5mm headphone jack that supports Hi-Res audio.
The camera department is the highlight of the smartphone. There’s a triple-camera setup on the back that includes three 12-megapixel sensors. It consists of a 24mm f/1.7 primary camera with a 1/1.7-inch sensor, a 16mm f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 85 to 125mm f/2.3 to f/2.8 telephoto zoom lens. On the front side, there’s a 12-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.
The smartphone runs the Android 12 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own custom user interface on top. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and comes with support for 30W fast charging and wireless charging.
