Xiaomi fans are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which will succeed last year’s well-received Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra 5G premium flagship phone. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will debut soon as the first-ever phone powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

It is still unclear which company will launch the world’s first Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 smartphone. For the global markets, Motorola is working on the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra (codenamed Fontier) featuring the SD8+G1 chip. Previous reports suggested that it would be the first SD8+G1 phone.

At the beginning of this month, ASUS confirmed that the gaming-focused ROG Phone 6 series powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will launch on July 5 in Taiwan, China, and the US. If the tipster is to be believed, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra should launch before the ROG Phone 6 series.

In addition, the tipster has also claimed that the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition, which was recently spotted with full specifications at TENAA, will debut in close succession to the Xiaomi 12 Ultra in China. These devices will be followed by SD8+G1 flagships from OnePlus, iQOO, and Red Magic. It looks like these Chinese smartphone makers will announce when their next-generation flagship phones will come out in the next few days.
