South Korean tech giant Samsung has been focusing a lot on its flagship devices. The launch of the Galaxy S22 Ultra in the first quarter of 2022 saw Samsung merge the Note product line with the Galaxy S flagship devices. The brand implemented the stylus capabilities of the Note series into the Galaxy S22, citing that maintaining a separate line simply for the stylus’s capabilities may be pointless. This move came as a blessing for Samsung, as they have sold more than 11 million pieces so far. This number far precedes the sales number for any Note series phone to date.
After the Note 7 battery explosion fiasco in 2017, Samsung moved on to the Note 8 edition after major quality control measures. The Note 8 revamped Samsung’s S Pen stylus credibility as more than 10 million units of the device were sold.
The device has sold surprisingly well, considering its $1199.99 starting price, which is among the highest for flagship smartphones. Samsung has proven extremely successful in selling their flagship devices, and they also offered a $125 price cut on the Galaxy S22 Ultra in June this year.
Meanwhile, the device comes with a 6.8-inch AMOLED 2X panel which has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a QHD+ resolution of 3088 x 1440 pixels.
Additionally, the display has a 240Hz touch sampling rate, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and a maximum brightness of 1,750 nits. Moreover, a fingerprint ultrasonic sensor is included beneath the screen. A 108MP F/1.8 main camera, a 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera, a 10MP F/2.4 3x lens, and a 10MP F/4.9 10x periscope lens make up the camera setup. There is a 40MP F/2.2 selfie camera up front.
