Xiaomi has made an official announcement that the 2022 variant of the Redmi G gaming laptop series will be available for pre-order from 21st July, 10:00 PM (GMT+8) onwards.
Xiaomi made this announcement officially through their Weibo account. The new-generation Redmi G series is a follow-up of the Redmi G 2021 which was launched in September last year.
Notably, the Redmi G series is known for its competitive pricing and high-end specs, proving that Xiaomi has what it takes to gain a market share in the Gaming Laptop segment.
The Redmi G 2021 Ryzen Edition from the previous year included a Ryzen 7 5800H, an RTX3060 graphics card, a performance release of 45W + 115W,16GB RAM + 512GB SSD in terms of storage, and an 80Wh battery.
The Redmi G 2021’s 16.1-inch 144Hz gaming screen has received German Rheinland low blue light certification. In addition, the Redmi G 2021 now has “Hurricane Cooling 3.0” technology which includes five all-copper heat pipes, two large 12V fans, and four air outlets.
Although Xiaomi hasn’t yet formally introduced the new Redmi G gamebook, it has already been seen on Xiaomi’s official website. According to the Xiaomi website, the gaming laptop will be priced at 6389 Yuan ($945 approx.). Clearly, Xiaomi is trying to penetrate the gaming market further with another competitively priced device.
To recall, the 2021 Redmi G Gaming laptop came in both Intel and AMD variants. The AMD variant started at 6999 Yuan (~$1,081) in China while the intel model retailed for 5,699 Yuan (~$880).
We await more information regarding the different variants and upgrades from its predecessor.
