Yesterday, MediaTek announced T830 chipset for routers and mobile hotspot devices. Now the Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer has launched Pentonic 700 processor for premium and high-end televisions. Last year, the company announced the Pentonic 2000 for 8K televisions. The latest processor offers a range of features. 

MediaTek Pentonic 700

Commenting on the launch of the Pentonic 700, the General Manager of the TV Business Unit at MediaTek said, ‘ Smart TV brands can count on Pentonic 700 to deliver incredible experiences whether consumers are watching videos or sports, gaming, or using their TV as a control center for their other smart devices.’

The MediaTek Pentonic 700 processor is made for smart TVs with support for up to 4K video resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The chipset offers AI-powered picture quality enhancements, Dolby Vision IQ, MEMC, and HDR10+. The Pentanoic 700’s integrated APU support’s MediaTek’s AI Super Resolution, AI-Picture Quality, and AI-PQ Object Recognition technologies. 

The MediaTek Pentonic features HDM 2.1’s Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) that cuts down display lag for a smooth gaming experience. It also comes with 4K 144Hz variable refresh rate support (VRR). The processor also comes with picture-by-picture (PbP) and picture-in-picture (PiP) modes that allow users to watch live sports events or video chat while content on their home devices simultaneously. 

The MediaTek Pentonic also supports WiFi-6E and the upcoming WiFi-7 as well as Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
