The Honor X40 5G will be unveiled at 7:30 pm (local time) on Sept. 15 in China. Ahead of the launch, the Chinese manufacturer has released a video of the Honor X40 5G on its TikTok handle. In addition, some Chinese tipsters have leaked the key specifications of the X40.

The Honor X40 5G’s video gives a good look at its curved-edge display, which seems to be integrated with a fingerprint sensor. Its right edge has volume buttons and a power key. Its bottom edge has a SIM slot, a microphone, a USB-C port, and a speaker grille. The device lacks a 3.5mm audio jack.

While the topside of the Honor X40 5G is not visible in the video, it seems to be equipped with an IR blaster. On the back of the device, there are two cameras set up in a round camera module.

Rumors are rife that the Honor X40 5G will have a 6.8-inch OLED display that offers a Full HD+ resolution and 10-bit colors. It is unclear whether the X40 has support for a high refresh rate. Today, the company confirmed that the phone will be backed by a 5,100mAh battery. It is said to carry support for 40W fast charging.

According to tipster WHY LAB, the Honor X40 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 695. The same chip powers the Honor X30 5G, which debuted in December 2021. The other specifications of the device are under wraps. Like the predecessor model, the X40 may come equipped with 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB of built-in storage. It is expected to come preinstalled with the Android 12 OS with Magic UI 6.1 on top.
