Vivo unveiled the X80 series back in April, and now it’s time for the X90 series. Rumors about Vivo’s next flagship series have just started to pick up. Recent reports suggest the lineup will include three smartphones— the Vivo X90, X90 Pro, and X90 Pro Plus. The handsets are tipped to be powered by the unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. However, a popular tipster suggests the series may also come equipped with the successor of the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. Here are the details.

Tipster Digital Chat Station suggests the Vivo X90 series may come in two CPU variants—Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and the next-gen Dimensity 9000 SoC. He revealed that the Antutu score of the Dimensity chipset is comparatively higher than Qualcomm’s offering.

If true, it’s certainly good news for those who like MediaTek’s chipsets over Qualcomm’s offerings. Moreover, recent Dimensity processors have shown some promising performance. For instance, Dimensity 9000 took first place in AnTuTu when sorted by Overall score, beating Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 by almost 15 percent.

Previous reports suggest the Vivo X90 Pro+, which will be the higher-end model in the series, will offer some serious camera performance. It is said to arrive with a 1-inch main camera and a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor that may offer 5x optical zoom.

Further, the handset is tipped to be equipped with a Samsung E6 AMOLED display, LPDDR5x RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage. It will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Soc. However, we may also see a Dimensity CPU variant. The Vivo X90 Pro+ is reported to debut as early as December 2022. Although, Vivo hasn’t confirmed any details about the upcoming smartphone yet, We hope to learn more in the coming days.
