Seeed Studio has just unveiled the new reComputer series of mini PCs that are power by Nvidia‘s Jetson Orin Nano series and the Orin NX system on modules (SoM). The new reComputer series comprises of the J3010 and J3011 models. So let’s have a look.

Both the J3010 and J3011 utilize the J401 carrier board, which provides a number I/O options from the Jetson Orin Nano. This includes a 40 pin expansion header, CAN bus, Fan header, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI video output, M.2 M-key (NVMe), M.2 E-key, 2x MIPI CSI camera inputs, Real time clock (RTC) module, USB 3.2 Type A, and a USB 2.0 Type-C recovery port.

Looking at official images, Seeed Studio’s new reComputer mini PCs are built from an aluminum casing and a heat sink to help keep thermals in check for the Jetson Orin Nano. As per official notes, the reComputer J3010 features the Jetson Orin Nano 4 GB and will be priced at 199 US Dollars. On the other hand, its 8GB variant will be 100 US Dollars more expensive. At the moment, the company is set to launch the new mini PCs during the third quarter of next year, which is 2023.

Meanwhile, the Jetson Orin NX-based reComputers should launch sometime around this same timeline. Although, there is also a possibility of it launching by the end of this year as well. The Jetson Orin NX will offer around 70 TOPS of performance with its 8GB variant, while the 16GB model should output 100 TOPS. This is quite a bit higher than the Jetson Orin Nano that had 40 TOPS with its 8GB version.
