Redmi A1+ launch date in India has been announced. It is set to debut in the country on October 14th. The Xiaomi sub-brand has put up a microsite of the upcoming offering on its official website. The smartphone is expected to arrive as an upgraded variant of the Redmi A1 that debuted in the country last month.

The Redmi A1+ launched in the global market last week. The Indian variant is tipped to arrive with the same specifications. The upcoming offering is said to be ‘Made in India’ as well as ‘Made for India’. The smartphone seems to be similar to the Redmi A1 with a leather texture finish on the back panel housing a square camera module. A noticeable difference between the two devices is that the Plus variant features a rear-mounted physical fingerprint scanner. Additionally, the upcoming offering is teased to come with dual rear cameras. The phone is confirmed to be backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit and features a waterdrop notch. The Redmi A1+ will come in Light Blue, Light Green, and Black colour options.
As for the core specifications, the Kenya variant of the Redmi A1+ features a 6.52-inch LCD display bearing an HD+ resolution. It is powered by an Helio A22 SoC paired with up to 3GB RAM and 2GB virtual RAM. The device features 32GB onboard storage and runs on Android 12 Go Edition OS out of the box.
