Honor recently unveiled the Honor X40 GT smartphone featuring the Snapdragon 888 chip in China. Now, the brand has quietly a low-priced 5G phone called the Honor Play 40 Plus. Read on know the specifications, features, and price of the device.

The Honor Play 40 Plus has a 6.74-inch IPS LCD display with a teardrop notch. The screen has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a refresh rate of 90Hz. It has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels.

The device features the Dimensity 700 chipset and a 6,000mAh battery. According to Honor, once it is fully charged, it can offer up to 23 hours of video playback time. The handset carries support for 22.5W fast charging.

The Play 40 Plus ships with 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB of built-in storage. The device comes preloaded with Android 12 OS, which is overlaid with Magic UI 6.1.

On the front, it has a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Its back panel has a 50-megapixel primary snapper and a 2-megapixel auxiliary camera. Some of the other features of the device include a side-facing fingerprint scanner, 5G support, Bluetooth 5.1, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Lastly, the device sports a slim profile of 8.27mm and weighs around 196 grams.

The Honor Play 40 Plus with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage costs 1,199 Yuan (~$165). The 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage editions of the device are priced at 1,399 Yuan (~$193) and 1,599 Yuan (~$221), respectively. The handset is now up for pre-sale in China. The device will go on sale on Oct. 28. Buyers can get the device in four colors: black, silver, blue, and purple.
