Apple is working on bringing additional functionality and information to its existing native Weather app in iOS. The company’s latest iOS 16.2 Beta is set to bring a couple of updates, so let’s have a look.
As of right now, the iOS’ Weather app shows the current temperature in a large font at the top of the screen, with the city name above it. The Weather app also shows the temperature range of the day as well as a 10 day forecast in the background. According to a Cult of Mac report, the Cupertino based giant will soon bring local news weather to the Weather app to add to its overall functionality. The local news also includes severe weather disturbances like hurricanes, tornadoes, hail, blizzards, and more.
Furthermore, the beta testers have also noted that the feature is currently only available in major cities and offers weather related stories in Apple News. Similarly, Apple News have also began surfacing in the Stocks app. For more information regarding the Weather app, you can head to the official Apple support page by clicking on this link here.
