Handheld gaming consoles are making a comeback in the market with recent releases like the Valve Steam Deck, Logitech G Cloud, and OneXPlayer Mini Pro handheld console. Anbernic has also launched multiple consoles in the past which are made to run retro games from platforms like Nintendo 64, Dreamcast Saturn, and PSP. Now, the brand has launched a new console called the Anbernic RG353M.

The Anbernic RG353M, in particular, has the same 3.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels as its siblings. A Rockchip RK3566 processor, 2 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and 32 GB of eMMC 5.1 flash storage.

The gaming handheld also features a 3,500 mAh battery and can dual-boot Android 11 or Linux. The RG353M has dimensions of 145 x 70.5 x 15.9 mm and weighs 232 grams. Aside from the standard selection of gamepad controllers, the gadget also features two microSD card slots, two USB Type-C connections, a 3.5 mm connector, and an HDMI output.

The RG353M is now available from Anbernic directly or through AliExpress. It is important to keep in mind that even if orders from AliExpress appear to cost US$12 more, shipping is free. When purchasing the RG353M directly from Anbernic, however, delivery costs US$12, completely negating the price difference. Before shipment, the RG353M is offered in the following combinations, all of which are Blue and Deep Purple in color:

  • 16 GB microSD card – US$145.99
  • 16 GB microSD card & 64 GB microSD card – US$153.99
  • 16 GB microSD card & 256 GB microSD card – US$175.99
