Anbernic recently launched the RG353M retro gaming console earlier this month. The console can run games from platforms like Nintendo 64, Dreamcast Saturn, and PSP, and comes with a 3.5-inch IPS display. The company has now launched a new console called the RG505, which features many upgrades over the above-mentioned console, especially in the display department.

Anbernic RG505

The Anbernic RG505 is a handheld gaming console powered by the Unisoc Tiger T618 chipset, which has two ARM Cortex-A75 CPU cores, six Cortex-A55 CPU cores, and a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU. Additionally, the company has equipped the console with a 4.5-inch OLED display that operates at 960 x 544 pixels.

It has 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of storage ensuring smooth operations and enough storage for multiple titles at once. Anbernic has also added a 3.5 mm connector, hall sensors, and a gyroscope for gaming, in addition to a microSD card reader.

The RG505 contains the typical array of gamepad buttons, including four shoulder buttons and action buttons organized in a YXAB arrangement, as evidenced by the company’s marketing photos. The gaming handheld also features a 5,000 mAh battery and can dual-boot Android 12 or Linux.

The RG505 is now available from Anbernic in Grey, Turquoise, and Yellow colorways for US$147.99. For US$162.99 and US$177.99, respectively, the company also sells the 189 x 87 x 18 mm handheld with 128 GB and 256 GB microSD cards. After November 29, all Anbernic RG505 orders should begin shipping internationally.
