Design

As you can clearly see from the images, the Honor 80 and the Realme 10 Pro Plus have gorgeous designs. They come with very thin bodies, as well as curved displays at the sides just like flagships, and they are also very lightweight. On the rear side, they have elegant round camera modules, while the displays come with a punch hole placed in the central part. I personally prefer the Realme 10 Pro Plus because it is more minimal and it comes with more suggestive textures on the rear side, but it is really a matter of taste. Which design do you prefer the most?

Display

The displays of these two phones are very similar to each other, even though we are not talking about exactly the same panel. The Realme 10 Pro Plus is equipped with an AMOLED panel able to show up to one billion colors with a diagonal of 6.7 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, and a brightness of 800 nits, as well as an in-display fingerprint reader. The Honor 80 has an OLED display able to show one billion colors with a diagonal of 6.67 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. As you see, these displays are very close to each other, so we suggest you to focus on the other specifications such as the audio department, given that the Realme 10 Pro Plus is the only one with stereo speakers.

Specs & Software

The hardware found on the Honor 80 is actually better than the one found on the Realme 10 Pro Plus. Indeed, it is powered by a better processor: the brand new Snapdragon 782G by Qualcomm. It is a chipset built with a 6 nm production process and sporting an octa-core architecture composed of a Cortex A78 performance core with a max frequency of 2.7 GHz, three Cortex A78 cores running at 2.4 GHz, four Cortex A55 cores running at 1.8 GHz, and an Adreno 642L GPU. The chipset is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of native storage. The Realme 10 Pro Plus provides an octa-core Dimensity 1080 chipset with a max frequency of 2.6 GHz, up to 12 GB of RAM, and up to 256 GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the Realme ships with Android 13 out of the box, while the Honor still comes with Android 12.

Camera

If your goal is to get a better camera phone, then you should opt for the Honor 80. It has a better main camera, with a resolution of 160 MP, even though it does not support OIS. The secondary sensors are the same, including an 8 MP ultrawide shooter and a 2 MP macro lens. The Honor 80 also provides a better front camera with a 32 MP resolution instead of just 16 MP.

Battery

The battery of the Realme 10 Pro Plus is bigger and it should provide longer battery life in most scenarios, while the charging speeds are more or less the same.

Price

The Realme 10 Pro+ starts from about €262/$275, while the Honor 80 carries a starting price tag of about €370/$352 at the actual change. Which one would you pick?
