Motorola will launch its upcoming flagship smartphone, called the Moto X40, on December 15 in China. The device is also expected to soon launch in the global market with Moto Edge 40 Pro moniker. Ahead of the launch, almost all of the key specifications, along with some renders, have been leaked.

Now, tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore has spotted the smartphone on the HDR+ database, confirming that the display panel of the smartphone will be quite capable. For those unaware, HDR10+ is quite akin to HDR10, as it is capable of producing around 1 billion different colors. The main difference between the two is that HDR10+ panels use dynamic metadata to accurately depict bright and dark parts during a scene. This makes HDR video content more immersive than when viewing it on standard HDR panels.

Other features include NFC, dual-band 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, USB Type C, dual speakers, Bluetooth 5.3, and IP68 water and dust resistance rating. The device was previously spotted on 3C and TENAA certification sites with 4,600mAh and a 5,000mAh battery pack. These options support 125W and 68W fast charging, respectively.

For optics, the smartphone is said to feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor, paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.
