The Red Magic 8 Pro is set to be the first gaming smartphone in the market to launch with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Now, this gaming smartphone’s pre-orders have just gone live in China, so here are all the details.

The Chinese smartphone maker has just began taking reservations for its latest flagship smartphone on JD.com, which is a popular e-retail website in China. The pre-orders are currently ahead of the device’s official announcement. As of right now, it is unclear when the company will actually launch the handset, although it is expected to be announced on the 26th of December 2022. While the launch event is a while away, a recent TENAA listing has revealed its key specifications as well.

Based on this listing, we know that the device will sport a 6.8 inch OLED display that offers high refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. Since it is a gaming smartphone, it will also house a robust cooling system to keep thermals in check during intensive tasks like gaming. This cooling mechanism will even include a heat dissipation turbofan as well. The front will house a 16 megapixel selfie camera, while the rear is expected to feature a 50 megapixel triple camera setup.

Under the hood, the device will likely be powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack that supports an impressive 165W fast charging. The rear panel will also feature a transparent material to showcase some of the internal components as well.
