Honor recently unveiled the Honor 80 Pro in China alongside several other smartphones. Recent leaks revealed the company is also working on a stripped-down version of 80 Pro, which features a flat display, a lower resolution, and an altered camera setup. The leaks turned out to be true, as the cheaper Honor 80 Pro is now official in China. The handset will only be sold in the offline market. Let’s have a look at its specs and pricing.

The rear of the smartphone looks almost similar to the regular version, however, the same can’t be said for the front. It features a flat 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a lower 2400x1080px resolution. The panel offers the same 120Hz refresh rate. Unlike the standard 80 Pro, which features a dual 50MP + 2MP camera setup on the front, the cheaper version packs a single 32MP selfie snapper.

As mentioned, Honor has also made some changes to the camera module of the smartphone. It still has a 160MP main camera, but the 50MP autofocusing ultrawide unit is gone. There’s now a downgraded 8MP ultrawide camera with fixed focus. The smartphone also retains the 2MP depth sensor.

Under the hood, the new Honor 80 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which is good news. The chipset is paired with up to 12GB of RAM. Fueling the smartphone is a 4,800mAh battery that supports 66W charging. On the software front, the Honor 80 Pro runs Android 12 with MagicOS 7 on top.

Talking about the price, the new Honor 80 Pro with a flat display carries a price tag of 3,599 Yuan ($526) for the 12/256GB version. It can be purchased in Black, Green, and Pink.
