As per the latest official tweet, the Chinese smartphone maker is planning on launching the new POCO C55 in India on 21st February 2023. For those unaware, it is a budget grade handset and will be a part of the company’s C series of smartphones. Based on what we know so far about the upcoming phone, the C55 is expected to feature a dual camera setup on the rear. It will have a large camera island module that also houses a rear mounted fingerprint scanner as well for added security.

Furthermore, previous teasers has also hinted at a leather like back panel design as well. The company has yet to reveal any finer details regarding the C55, although, this model is believed to be a rebranded version of the Redmi 12C, but with a new rear design. Meaning, the internal specifications are likely similar if not identical. The Redmi 12C was launched in China back in January and sports a tall 6.71 inch HD+ display and a 5 megapixel selfie shooter on the front.

Under the hood, it is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC that is paired with up to 6GB of RAM. The primary camera on the rear is a 50 megapixel lens, which is paired with a 2 megapixel depth sensor. A large 5,000mAh battery pack powers the device but supports the standard 10W charging. So stick around for more, as we will be covering any other teaser or leak ahead of its official launch.
