Last year Galaxy S21 FE failed to make a significant impact in the market. However, recent rumours suggest that Samsung has not given up on its FE lineup just yet, and the Galaxy S23 FE may be in the works, with Twitter leaker OreXDA providing some juicy details.

According to OreXDA, the Galaxy S23 FE will run on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, last year’s model, to “adjust the unit price.” While this may seem like a step back, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is still a high-end chip and should offer a flagship-tier experience even a year after its launch. The use of an older chip also allows OEMs to purchase it at a lower price, which could make the Galaxy S23 FE more affordable for consumers.
In addition to the chipset, it is expected that the Galaxy S23 FE will feature a 120 Hz AMOLED screen and some, if not all, of the Galaxy S23 series’ camera sensors. While it is still too early to make any concrete assumptions, these leaks offer a glimpse into what Samsung may have in store for its FE lineup.
The fate of Samsung‘s FE lineup has been uncertain, but the return of the Galaxy S23 FE with a high-end chip from Qualcomm may signal a renewed commitment from the tech giant to its budget-friendly offerings. OreXDA has been a reliable source of leaks in the past, so there may be some truth to these speculations.
If the Galaxy S23 FE does make its way to the market in Q3 or Q4, it will face stiff competition from other mid-range offerings from rival brands. Still, Samsung’s brand recognition and loyal fan base may give it an edge. Only time will tell if the Galaxy S23 FE will be a hit or a miss, but for now, fans of Samsung’s FE lineup can rest assured that it is not dead just yet.
