Foxconn, one of the largest Apple suppliers, has just announced a new manufacturing site in the South Indian city of Hyderabad. This new production facility will be create a large number of new jobs in the region, so here are all the details.

For those unaware, the Taiwanese manufacturing giant is the largest iPhone maker and a major supplier of Apple. Now, it is setting up a new manufacturing site in the Indian state of Telangana. This new site is expected to create over 100,000 new jobs. This follows a year after the company announced that it will be investing 500 million US Dollars in the country. The announcement was made after Foxconn Chairman Yopung Liu and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao signed an agreement at the Chief Miniter’s official residence.

Thanks to the new agreement, Foxconn can possibly bring in a large number of employees over the course of the next 10 years. But unfortunately, the exact amount of investment being for this new project is still unclear. Furthermore, Chairman Young Liu also announced that Foxconn will be donating an Foxconn hire over 100,000 people in India, which is the largest prototyping center in India that spans across a 78,000 sq ft building.

Liu also praised the friendly industrial development ecosystem that has been created in Telangana. According to an Indian minister, “One of our slogans during the statehood fight was employment. With the mega investment coming our way in the form of Foxconn, and the huge employment opportunities it brings, youngsters of Telangana state will truly be happy.”
