In October 2022, iQOO unveiled the iQOO Neo 7 equipped with the Dimensity 9000 Plus chipset in China. Hence, it is likely that the brand will announce the iQOO Neo 8 in the second half of this year. Well ahead of launch, tipster Digital Chat Station (via. TechGoing) has leaked the key specifications of the device.

According to DCS, the iQOO Neo 8 will be powered by the Dimensity 9200 Plus, which is yet to go official. As per a recent report, the D9200+ will be an enhanced version of the D9200. The SoC is expected to rival the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Apart from iQOO, it is speculated that brands such as Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi are also planning to launch smartphones with Dimensity 9200 Plus chipset.

The new leak also states that the iQOO Neo 8 will be equipped with 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The tipster claimed that the Neo 8 will be stacked against the forthcoming Redmi K60 Ultra, which is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2023.

Last week, the same source said that the Redmi K60 Ultra will have an OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a high refresh rate. It will come with the Dimensity 9200 chipset and 100W charging.

In Q4 2022, iQOO launched the iQOO Neo 7, Neo 7 Racing Edition, and Neo 7 SE in China. These phones are powered by the Dimensity 9000 Plus, Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, and Dimensity 8200 chipsets, respectively. The iQOO Neo 7, which is available in India, is a rebranded version of the Neo 7 SE. Hence, it appears that the Neo 8 series may include other models, such as the iQOO Neo 8 Racing Edition and the Neo 8 SE.
