Xiaomi’s smartphone business has relied on the Redmi Note series as its mainstay in the global market for as long as we can recall. In December 2022, the brand announced that it had sold over 300 million units of its Note series smartphones worldwide, with 72 million units sold in India alone. Despite its success, the demand for the Note series continues to surge as the brand has now revealed that the latest lineup, Redmi Note 12, has surpassed Rs. 1000 crore in sales within two months of its launch in India.

Alvin Tse, VP of Xiaomi Global, took to Twitter to announce the latest milestone achieved by the Xiaomi sub-brand. Xiaomi previously disclosed that the Redmi Note 12 series smartphones generated a revenue of Rs. 300 crores in India within the first week of their launch. Within the following two weeks, the company achieved another milestone as it sold units worth Rs. 500 crores across the country. And now, the lineup has surpassed the Rs. 1,000 mark.

The high demand for the Redmi Note series smartphones indicates that they are popular among consumers in India and worldwide. The lineup’s popularity can be attributed to a variety of factors. For starters, Xiaomi has consistently made upgrades to the series, including better cameras, longer battery life, and improved performance. Additionally, the brand has kept the smartphones competitively priced, making them accessible to a broader range of customers.

The latest Redmi Note 12 series includes the vanilla Note 12, a higher-end Note 12 Pro, and the top-of-the-line Redmi Note 12 Pro+. All three phones flaunt a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and run Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box. The Pro phones get the Dimensity 1080 SoC while the standard model packs the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chip.
