The Pixel 6a, a popular mid-range smartphone from Google, is set to be replaced by a newer model, the Pixel 7a. According to rumors, the upcoming device will have a 90Hz display, making it an attractive option for those seeking a budget-friendly smartphone with a complete Google experience. Ahead of the rumored May 10 debut, the smartphone has cleared Bluetooth SIG. This could mean that the smartphone will be made available soon after its unveiling.

The Bluetooth SIG certification has confirmed that Google’s upcoming Pixel smartphone will come in four model numbers: G0DZQ, GWKK3, GHL1X, and G82U8. Additionally, the certification reveals that the Pixel 7a will support Bluetooth 5.3, but it does not provide any other specifications. Nonetheless, information about the device has already been leaked previously.

Google Pixel 7a specs
According to leaks, the Pixel 7a will have a similar design to its predecessor, the Pixel 6a. The device’s rear panel will have a horizontal visor, which will contain a small pill-shaped cutout for its dual-camera setup. An LED flash will also be present next to the camera sensors, while the power and volume buttons will remain on the phone’s right edge.

Antenna lines visible on the frame suggest that the device will have a metal chassis. Additionally, alleged live images of the phone have indicated that it will come with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The Pixel 7a is expected to have a symmetrical bezel design around its display, with a hole-punch cutout at the top center. Its main camera setup will consist of a 12MP sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, while the front-facing camera is rumored to be a 10.8MP sensor.
The device will come with a 6.1-inch AMOLED display that has a Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Some leaks suggest that the Pixel 7a will be powered by the Tensor G2 SoC and run on Android 13. It may also have support for 5W wireless charging.
