Samsung‘s recent updates have mainly revolved around One UI 5.1 based on Android 13, which is being released for its devices. However, in an unusual turn of events, the Korean tech giant has released the Android 12 update for one of its smartphones that had been stuck on Android 11. The Galaxy A03 Core is the device in question, and it is now receiving the software update in Russia. Here are the details.

As reported by Sammobile, the Samsung Galaxy A03 Core units in Russia have now started to pick up the Android 12 update with firmware version A032FXXU2BWC3. The software is expected to be seeded in other regions in the coming days. If the Android 12 update is available for the Galaxy A03 Core in their region, users can download and install it by clicking on the notification or going to “Software update” in the Settings app and choosing “Download and install.”

The Galaxy A03 Core is a budget smartphone with modest specifications, such as lower RAM, storage capacity, and less advanced cameras. As a result, Samsung released a simplified version of Android 12 to support the device since it lacks the necessary hardware for a regular Android 12 version. This new version of Android and One UI has a lightweight design. However, updating to Android 12 from Android 11 will bring some new features and an updated look to the phone.

The Galaxy A03 Core was initially released in 2021, and it came with Android 11 pre-installed. According to Samsung’s update policy, the phone should receive three significant OS updates, indicating that it may also receive the Android 13 update later on.
