Asus is ready to launch its gaming handheld, the Asus ROG Ally, on May 11. Based on the information available thus far, it is expected to be a formidable gaming device that will directly compete with Valve’s Steam Deck. Most of the details regarding the handheld have already been revealed, including pricing and availability. However, a recent report has provided additional information on the cost of the Asus ROG Ally in Europe.

Asus ROG Ally will go against Steam Deck

According to a WinFuture report, the Asus ROG Ally (RC71L model number), featuring the powerful AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage, will be priced at €799 in Europe. It will be available for purchase from mid-June. In comparison, the same device is expected to be priced at $700 in the United States.

Recent reports have provided detailed specifications for the upcoming Asus ROG Ally gaming handheld. The device is expected to be available in two variants, with the base model featuring an AMD Ryzen Z1 processor. The handheld will sport a 7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a peak brightness of 500 nits. Running on Windows 11, the device will offer compatibility with popular gaming platforms such as EA apps, Epic Games, Steam, and Xbox Game Pass.

In terms of connectivity and charging, the Asus ROG Ally is rumored to include a dedicated microSD card slot, a USB Type-C port, and support for fast charging at 65W. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for enhanced security and Dolby Atmos audio support. It will also feature a heat pipe with two-element heat sinks, a connection port for the ASUS XG Mobile external GPU, shoulder buttons for gaming convenience, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
