Sony has just announced a new Bluetooth speakers that could be the perfect partner for your next trip to the beach. The company has unveiled the SRS-XB100 is a lightweight wireless speaker, which even features a water resistant build.

Unlike the large SRS-XV900 speakers that was launched a couple of months ago. the SRS-XB100 is quite compact and portable. The new wireless speakers is lightweight and is built to be loud despite its small form factor. This is thanks to the brand using a passive radiator. The new Sony Bluetooth speakers weighs just under 300 grams and measures mere 2.9 inches in width and 3.9 inches in height. The Japanese tech giant also equipped the speakers with a multiway strap as well, allowing users to hang the speakers from their backpack, bike handles, and much more. This is even handy to those that are hiking.

In other words, it is clear that these speakers is built for being used outdoors. The new Sony portable speaker packs a Sound Diffusion Processor that uses DSP to create a move expansive sound field both indoors and outdoors. It feature stereo playback and even houses an in built microphone for hands free calls. This even feature an echo cancelling feature for improved call clarity.

Thanks to its IP67 water and dust resistance, the SRS-XB100 speakers is perfect as a companion when out and about in places like the beaches. This rating implies that the wireless speakers can survive a one meter depth of water submersion for up to 30 minutes. Sony also promises around 16 hours of playback on a single full charge. The new speakers is available in blue, orange, light gray, and black color options and is being sold for 59 US Dollars.
