The upcoming iPhone 15 lineup is expected to go official in a few months, but it’s the iPhone 16 series smartphones, which will debut more than a year later, have been in the news.

Some details about the Apple iPhone 16 smartphone getting launched next year have surfaced online and in the latest development, details about the rear camera sensor arrangement have been revealed.

The new information, shared by Twitter user @URedditor, claims that the standard iPhone 16 model will come with a two-camera setup where the sensors will be arranged in a vertical layout. The same design is also expected to be expanded to the iPhone 16 Plus.

It is further said that the change will make the device “instantly recognizable” as the latest model, at least when combined with other newer design aspects on the device, including the Dynamic Island and a USB-C port.

Apple switched to the diagonally-arranged sensors setup for the rear camera with the iPhone 13 lineup, and the same is found on the current generation iPhone 14 series models.

While Apple is expected to go with the vertically-aligned camera sensors on the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, the Pro series models in the lineup are expected to continue with the diagonally-arranged sensors.
