Earlier this year, Instagram had announced the new Broadcast Channels feature to help content creators better connect with their followers. And now, it appears that the company is expanding this feature outside of its initial experimental stage and bringing it to the Indian market.

Instagram Broadcast Channels finally arrives in India

The latest move from the social media giant is one of its latest attempts at making the experience between its users and its creators more interactive. Talking more about the feature itself, it lets creators a way to directly message all of their fans and stay connected with them. This will even let the followers stay updated with the latest announcements of their favorite content creators or other known public figures.

As the name suggests, it is basically a broadcast messaging tool and even let’s you creators send out text messages, images, videos, and voice notes. These channels support the creation of polls and get feedback directly from their followers. Unlike the creators, the followers only get to react to the messages from the creator or participate in their polls. Once a broadcast channel is setup, the followers will receive a one time notification asking to join the channel.

Once the members are in, they can choose to mute or leave the broadcast channel. Apart from this, the creator can leave a link to the channel via their bio or tap on the channel sticker on their story. Notably, this news also arrives after Meta brought paid verification subscription for Facebook and Instagram in India.
