China Telecom has unveiled the Maimang A20 5G smartphone in China. For those who don’t know, Maimang, initially launched as a sub-brand under Huawei in collaboration with China Telecom and Tencent in 2013. It became popular for its trendy and youthful designs. Some Maimang devices were even rebranded by Huawei for global distribution, attracting a wider audience. Due to US sanctions on Huawei, Maimang was sold off to China Telecom to ensure its continuity. Coming back to the Maimang A20 5G, it is an entry-level 5G phone packed with key specs, such as the Dimensity 700, a 5,000mAh battery, and a 50-megapixel rear camera.

The Maimang A20 5G has a 6.52-inch IPS LCD display that offers a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. On the front, the device features a 5-megapixel camera, and it has a single 50-megapixel camera with LED flash on the back.

The handset is powered by the Dimensity 700 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 22.5W charging. The device comes with 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. There is a microSD card slot onboard for additional storage. The phone runs on Android 13 OS.

The phones come with security features like a side-facing fingerprint scanner and face unlock. The device measures 164.28 x 75.8 x 8.94mm and weighs 188 grams.

The Maimang A20 5G comes in two configurations: 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. Both variants are priced at 1,299 Yuan (~$182) and 1,499 Yuan (~$210). It comes in three shades, such as black, green, and blue.
