At the beginning of this month, Motorola announced the Razr 40 and the Razr 40 Ultra flip phones with foldable displays in China. The Ultra was soon made available for purchase after its launch in the home market. However, Motorola began the pre-sale of the Razr 40 on June 18. Starting today, it is available for purchase in China as the most affordable flip phone with a starting price of 3,999 Yuan (~$557).

In China, the Razr 40 is available in three different configurations. The first option offers 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, priced at 3,999 Yuan (~$557). The second variant provides 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, with a price tag of 4,299 Yuan (~$599).

The highest-end model comes with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, priced at 4,699 Yuan (~$654). It comes in the following color choices for the Chinese market: Azure Gray, Bright Moon White, and Sakura Powder.

The Motorola Razr 40 has a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED foldable screen with a punch-hole design. It offers an FHD+ resolution, a 20.5:9 aspect ratio, a 144Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,400 nits of brightness. The display punch-hole houses a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

On the back, the Razr 40 has a 64-megapixel (main, with OIS) + 13-megapixel dual-camera system, along with a 1.5-inch AMOLED cover screen. Under the hood, the device is equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 2.2 storage.

The Razr 40 runs on Android 13 OS and My UX. It has a 4,200mAh battery that offers 30W wired charging and 5W wireless charging. For security, it has a side-facing fingerprint scanner.
