One of the notable upgrades over its predecessor is the addition of a large cover screen on the back panel, as revealed by recent press renders. The secondary display is expected to measure 3.4 inches with a 720p resolution. It will feature a unique folder-like icon design, ensuring ample space for a dual rear camera setup.

Unfortunately, due to the protective case obscuring parts of the leaked live image, further information about the phone’s appearance is currently unavailable.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED 120Hz internal display and a 3.4-inch external display. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip. The phone is equipped with a 12MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 12MP selfie camera on the front.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will come with a larger 3,700mAh battery capacity and support 25W charging. It will be available in two variants: 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The phone will run on Android 13 with Samsung’s OneUI on top.

Furthermore, reports suggest that Samsung has collaborated with Google to optimize apps for the secondary display on the Galaxy Z Flip 5. It has been mentioned that Google Maps will be accessible on the cover screen of the upcoming foldable device.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 5, alongside Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Tab S9 series, at the upcoming Unpacked event scheduled for the end of July. The reception of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 at the event may influence the design direction of future models, including the Z Fold 6.
