The Redmi Note 12R, equipped with the latest Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset offering 5G network compatibility, has been recently introduced by Xiaomi in China. While Xiaomi has not yet confirmed any global release plans for this device, tipster Kacper Skrzypek suggests that it might be launched under a different name in international markets.

As per a recent tweet from Kacper Skrzypek, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12R is expected to be released globally under the name Redmi 12 5G. Additionally, for Indian customers, the device is likely to be marketed as the Poco M6 Pro 5G. It is important to note that the Poco M5 Pro has not been launched in India, suggesting the possibility of the brand skipping it entirely and introducing the M6 Pro 5G instead. With a centered punch-hole camera housing, the Redmi Note 12R offers a 6.79-inch LCD panel that delivers Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Its 240Hz touch sampling rate ensures smooth touch response, while DC Dimming enhances display quality.

Driving the device is the recently unveiled Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, providing 5G connectivity. It pairs with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage, offering ample space for storage and multitasking.

In terms of photography, the smartphone boasts a dual-camera setup on the rear, featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, a 5-megapixel camera handles selfies and video calls.

The phone runs the Android 13 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own MIUI 14 custom user interface on top. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging, offering extended usage time.
