Honor Magic V2 is launching in China on July 12 as what is claimed to be the thinnest foldable smartphone yet. The Magic Vs successor could beat the current slimmest phone—Huawei Mate X3—and set a new precedent. As we are nearing the launch, Honor has started to release more information about the device, and in the latest development, you get to see its camera samples. The company has also made the same bold claims.

The camera samples, shared by President of Product Line at Honor, show a beautiful sunset in Beijing. The images look rather detailed but we’ll let you be the judge of the quality. It might be worth noting that images shared by the officials don’t often show the real camera capabilities of the phones.

Magic V2 is lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro Max

Honor has been singing praises of the lightness and thinness of the Magic V2. It seems that the smartphone will truly live up to these claims as the company is now comparing it with the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which weighs 240 grams.

The foldable is expected to bring bleeding-edge hardware. It could be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The company may also launch a Supreme Edition of the device, equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. While we don’t much about the Magic V2’s display, it is rumored to bring will a 7.9-inch foldable LTPO OLED panel with a 2K resolution. The smartphone may also feature a 50MP Sony IMX800 primary sensor on the rear and run Magic OS 7 out of the box.

We have gathered all the available details of the Honor Magic V2 in this roundup here. You may check it out to learn more.
