Last week, the Red Magic 8S Pro series devices were launched in China featuring an advanced version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Now, the brand has revealed that the global launch of the Red Magic 8S Pro is just around the corner.

According to the Red Magic global website, the 8S Pro will be launching on July 18 for global customers. The brand is yet to reveal its pricing, however, some details about the specs have already been revealed. According to the brand, the smartphone will feature the same sleek, metallic design as the Chinese counterpart, powered by the “Leading Version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. LPDDR5X RAM and UFS4.0 storage will also be onboard along with the ICE 12.0 cooling system for controlling thermals.

The smartphone showcases a sizable 6.8-inch 120Hz AMOLED FHD+ display with a 960Hz touch sampling rate. It boasts a peak brightness of 1300 nits, 10-bit color depth, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a 93.7% screen-to-body ratio. Notably, it incorporates a seventh-generation ultra-thin fingerprint sensor and an under-display camera.

Under the hood, the device is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Advanced Edition, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. It also features the RedCore R2 gaming chip developed by the company and the ICE 12 Magic Cooling system to optimize gaming performance.

In terms of photography, the smartphone sports a triple-camera setup on the rear, consisting of a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. For selfies and video calls, it houses a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.

Running on the Android 13 operating system out-of-the-box, the device incorporates RedMagic OS 8.0 for a customized user experience. The smartphone operates on a 6,000mAh battery and supports 80W fast charging technology.
