Along with the latest Magic V2 foldable and the MagicPad 13 tablet, Honor also launched a new premium TV today. The Honor Smart Screen 5 brings high-end specifications as well as a premium design. The bezel-less TV supports 4K resolution and runs the company’s own MagicOS operating system. It comes with a 144Hz variable refresh rate and other notable e-sports grade features. The Honor Smart Screen 5 boasts a 4K ultra-clear display, capable of showing 1.07 billion colors. The TV comes with a DCI-P3 cinema-level wide color gamut, a high color accuracy of △ E≈2, and a screen-to-body ratio of over 98%. It also supports 4K HDR10 decoding. Honor has packed the TV with the latest AI-PQ technology and AI-SR super-resolution technology which apparently improves the picture quality.

The large screen is claimed to have an e-sports grade quality with an exclusive game mode. The TV also features multiple interfaces, supports full VRR variable refresh rate from 48Hz to 144Hz, and supports 240Hz high refresh rate mode with millisecond low latency.

The TV is powered by the 4K flagship chip MT9653 and becomes the first smart TV to pass the highest level of four-star certification for Tencent START cloud games, meaning that it can run these games without any lag or stuttering. The Honor Smart Screen 5 also features MagicOS, a new operating system for smart TVs that is developed by Honor. Another impressive feature of the Honor TV is its 50-megapixel AI ultra-wide-angle camera.

Price and Availability

The Honor Smart Screen 5 65-inch will be available for pre-sale in China on July 12 at 9:30 PM. The official sale will start on July 20 at 10:08 AM. The suggested retail price is 3,999 yuan (~$554.85), but the first-sale exclusive price is 3,699 yuan (~$514.85) (Via ITHome). The retail price for the 75-inch version is 5,299 yuan (~$729.85).
