In May, Honor unveiled the Honor Play 40 5G smartphone in China. The brand has now silently unveiled a new phone called the Honor Play 40C. Here is a look at the specifications, features, and price of the device.

The Honor Play 40C features a 6.56-inch LCD waterdrop screen with an HD+ resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. It also offers a 90Hz touch sampling rate and 70% NTSC color gamut.

On the camera front, the Play 40C features a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for high-quality selfies. At the rear, it houses a 13-megapixel camera with an LED flash. The device comes preinstalled with MagicOS 7.1 UI-based Android 13.

Powering the Honor Play 40C is the Snapdragon 480 Plus chipset and a massive 5,200mAh battery with 10W charging. The device comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

The Play 40C comes with other features, such as dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, a USB-C port, a side-facing fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm audio jack. With a thickness of just 8.35mm and weighing 188 grams, the phone offers a sleek and lightweight design.

The Honor Play 40C is almost identical to the Play 40 5G. The only major difference between the two phones is that the Play 40C has a single 13-megapixel camera, whereas the Play 40 5G features a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup.

The Honor Play 40C comes in three attractive colors: Magic Night Black, Ink Jade Green, and Sky Blue. It comes in the 6GB+128GB variant only and is priced at 899 Yuan (~$126). In comparison, the same configuration of the Play 40 5G is priced at 1,380 Yuan (~$193).
