Realme GT 5 is the name of Realme’s upcoming flagship phone for the Chinese market. The confirmation came directly from the brand itself, as the moniker “Realme GT 5” was spotted at its booth during the ongoing 2023 China Joy tech exhibition in China.
There have been speculations that Realme’s next phone featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset will be called the Realme GT 5. The below-shown image of Realme’s booth at China Joy 2023 confirms its moniker. The GT 5 series is also expected to include another model called the Realme GT 5 Pro, which is said to be equipped with Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship chip.
While the GT 5 will debut in August in China, the GT 5 Pro is expected to launch towards the end of this year or by the first quarter of 2024. Here is a look at what to expect from the Realme GT 5 series.
Realme GT 5 series: what to expect?
The Realme GT 5 is expected to arrive with a 6.74-inch OLED panel that produces a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The device will run on Android 13 with a layer of Realme UI 4.0 on top. It will be equipped with a 16-megapixel front camera and a triple camera unit featuring a Sony IMX890 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera on the back.
Under the hood, the Realme GT 5 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The GT 5 variant with a 4,600mAh battery will support 240W fast charging, whereas its 5,200mAh battery variant will offer 150W fast charging.
As for the Realme GT 5 Pro, it is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It is likely that it will be the company’s first phone to feature a periscope zoom camera.
