Chinese electric vehicle (EV) startup Zeekr is making waves with its expansion into the European market, offering two new models: the 001 mid-size liftback and the X compact crossover. These exciting vehicles are now up for pre-order in Sweden and the Netherlands, with more countries to follow.

But that’s not all from Zeekr. Besides these two EVs, the brand sells a unique model, the 009 minivan, in China. Clearly, they are on the move. Recently, Zeekr teased an exciting new model, the high-performance 001 FR, on the social media app X (formerly known as Twitter). This aggressive-looking car is said to challenge even the renowned Tesla Model S Plaid.
The 001 FR is more than just eye-catching. It boasts a sports-inspired body kit, including a fierce front bumper, large air intakes, bigger wheels, a roof spoiler, and other sleek details. This design doesn’t just look cool; it speaks to the car’s performance focus.
Zeekr’s price tag for its first luxury sports car is set above 1 million yuan ($140,000) in China, making it slightly more affordable than the Tesla Model S Plaid. It is expected to launch within weeks, with deliveries starting later this year.
Details about the 001 FR’s power are still under wraps, but it must be something special to challenge Teslaw’s Plaid. The most potent variant of the regular 001 already comes with a dual-motor powertrain, delivering 536 horsepower and a top speed of 124 mph.
Zeekr is taking the world of EVs by storm, and this new model is one more bold step towards making a significant mark. The world will be watching.
