General Motors (GM) is making big moves in the electric vehicle world. One of their newest offerings is the Cadillac Escalade IQ. It’s an electric version of the much-loved gas-powered V8 Escalade. Recently, GM showed off the new SUV in New York City and then shared drawings of it on Instagram.
The SUV has a travel range of 450 miles on a single charge
The drawings give us a look at how GM first imagined the Escalade IQ and what it turned into. The front looks like the sketches with its LED lights, grille, and air intake. The lines along the sides match up too.

But there were some noticeable changes as well. The back end of the SUV is not as boxy as in the drawings. The rear windshield is tilted more, and the backlights are different. One sketch showed L-shaped lights, another had vertical ones. The sporty back bumper in the drawings turned into a more regular one in the real car.
Even with these changes, the Escalade IQ looks strong. It’s a nod to the old models but with a fresh, green twist. It shares parts with other electric cars from GM, like the Cadillac Celestiq and Chevrolet Equinox EV.
The new SUV has a big battery that can go for 450 miles. It will be made at GM’s Factory Zero in Detroit. The price hasn’t been shared yet, but it’ll be around $130,000. That’s more than the $80,795 V8 Escalade.
Production starts next summer, and people will start getting them by the end of 2024. It’s an exciting time for electric vehicles, and the Cadillac Escalade IQ is right in the mix.
