Xpeng is expanding its electric vehicle lineup. Even though the company sees its autonomous-driving technology as its main strength against competitors like Tesla and BYD, it doesn’t forget to introduce products for different needs. Even though its release is still some time away, new spy photos show a cleaner design, updated headlights, and more. Here are the details…

Xpeng X9 New Photos Out: A Fresh Look Without the ‘Squinty’ Lights

Xpeng Motors has been teasing its upcoming Xpeng X9 SUV for a few months now, and the latest spy shots reveal some design elements. The upcoming vehicle still has the usual Xpeng design on the front. But, the big change is in the headlights. The X9 will have a more traditional headlight design, with larger, round headlights that are separated by a wider grille.

This new design is much more in line with the rest of the Xpeng lineup, and it should help to make the X9 look more premium. At the back, the X9 has a full-length tail light, matching the front light. The back bumper has a special Xpeng look and fits smoothly with the rest of the car, making it look sleek.

Word is, the X9 might be longer than 5.5 meters and almost as wide as 2.3 meters. He Xiaopeng, the CEO of Xpeng Motors, says the X9 is their way of reaching out to younger buyers. We’re still waiting for more details about what’s under the hood. But with all this buzz, everyone’s excited to see how the X9 will do when it hits the streets.
